Circularity

Our In-House Recycling Facility

We love to crush

Each of FabPub’s locations is equipped with crushers to support the recycling of PET, PETG, and PLA materials within our community. At FabPub, waste is just the beginning of something new. Our London-based recycling facility allows us to transform used prints and workshop waste into fresh material, ready for new creations.

Step-by-Step: How Our Recycling Facility Works

Step 1

Step 1

Sorting

We collect failed prints, support structures, and prototypes. Materials are sorted by type and colour, with contaminants and non-recyclables removed.

Whole prints are fed into our large crusher, where they’re broken down into small, manageable pieces roughly the size of a banana.

The pieces are further refined in a smaller shredder, reducing them into uniform fragments about the size of lentils.

Shredded material is pelletised and blended with natural additives for colour, fire resistance, and strength. This recycled material is used to print new objects.

Take-Back Scheme

Our Take-Back Scheme is part of Fab.Pub’s commitment to real, actionable circularity. Through this initiative, we invite clients to return 3D-printed items produced by Fab.Pub that have reached the end of their use.

This returned material is then processed through our in-house recycling facility and transformed into new, print-ready pellets, ready to serve the next creative purpose.

Whether your prototype is obsolete or your product has reached end-of-life, we take it back and give it a new life through our recycling facility.
