Designer in Residence at Fab.Pub
Tea and coffee waste, reimagined through 3D printing
Fab.Pub is hosting Taiwanese designer Chao-Chun Kung as a designer in residence at our London workshop. Created with Ching-Yu Lin and Chen-Yang Chang, After the Last Sip explores how used tea leaves and coffee grounds can become new materials for large-scale robotic 3D printing.
The residency at Fab.Pub
The residency brings the designers into Fab.Pub’s London workshop, where the collection has been developed and fabricated using our large-scale robotic 3D-printing capabilities.
By combining material experimentation, digital design and fabrication under one roof, the residency allows ideas to move from waste material to finished objects.
The resulting collection includes sculptural furniture, lighting and material experiments that reveal new textures, forms and possibilities for organic waste.
From waste to product
After the Last Sip begins with materials that are usually discarded.
Used tea leaves and coffee grounds are collected, processed and incorporated into bio-composite materials. These materials are then tested and shaped through large-scale 3D printing to create functional and sculptural objects.
The exhibition invites visitors to reconsider waste as a material resource and explore what can happen after the last sip.

The creative team
After the Last Sip is a collaborative project bringing together designers and a spatial curator to explore material research, digital design and large-scale robotic 3D printing.
Chao-Chun Kung
Role: Director and Designer
Chao-Chun leads the creative direction and overall development of After the Last Sip, exploring how tea leaves and coffee grounds can be transformed into bio-composite materials for 3D-printed furniture, lighting and sculptural objects.
Ching-Yu Lin and Chen-Yang Chang
Role: Co-directors and Designers
Ching-Yu and Chen-Yang collaborate on the design development and material experimentation behind the exhibition, translating research into functional and sculptural forms produced through large-scale 3D printing.
Chih-Han Liu
Role: Spatial Curator
Chih-Han leads the spatial curation of the exhibition, shaping how the finished works, material samples and fabrication process are arranged and experienced within Fab.Pub.
