Converse Jack Purcell Wimbledon Shelving Installation
A PLAYFUL, BRAND-LED DISPLAY CREATED FOR CONVERSE AT NIKE HOUSE, WIMBLEDON.
Rapid Design, Fabrication and Installation by Fab.Pub
Can a simple shelving unit become a playful brand experience through digital fabrication, material experimentation and quick creative iteration?

For Converse’s Wimbledon 2026 activation at Nike House, Fab.Pub was commissioned by Tribeast Studio, on behalf of Converse, to design, fabricate, install and derig a series of bespoke display elements for an existing white shelving unit.
The activation was built around the Jack Purcell trainer, with the shelving unit acting as the focal point of a compact branded seeding space. Rather than fully rebuilding the unit, the brief called for a considered, light-touch approach, adding character, texture and playful detail without cluttering the room.
The final installation brought together tennis-inspired forms, Jack Purcell references and hand-finished fabricated objects to create one cohesive visual display.
The Challenge: Creating Impact Without Overbuilding the Shelf
The challenge was to transform an existing white shelving unit into a distinctive brand moment while keeping the intervention light, reversible and fully integrated with the space.
The room was compact and already dressed with product and brand items, so the design needed to add personality without overwhelming the display. Every element had to work within the fixed shelf dimensions, follow strict brand direction, and reflect the world of Jack Purcell and Wimbledon without relying on predictable tennis decoration.
With only one week from concept to installation, the project required a fast, collaborative and highly iterative process.
Solution: Turning Tennis References into Bespoke Display Objects
Fab.Pub developed a rapid workflow that combined sketching, AI-assisted concept exploration, digital modelling and hands-on fabrication. This allowed the team to quickly test visual directions, refine ideas with the client, and translate the strongest concepts into physical display objects.
The final collection used a mix of prop making, 3D printing, laser cutting, digital printing, painting, hand finishing and assembly. Bespoke pieces included sculptural tennis-court shoe supports, blue branded tennis balls, a Jack Purcell-inspired flag, cactus planters, display inserts and playful tennis-themed details that sat within or interacted with the shelving compartments.
One key experimental element was the printed tennis court form. Produced flat in two colours and then carefully heated and manually shaped, the object retained its recognisable court graphics while becoming a sculptural display plinth for footwear.
Impact: Turning a Compact Shelf into a Cohesive Converse Brand Moment
The completed installation transformed a standard shelving unit into a curated Wimbledon display that balanced product presentation with playful fabrication.
Instead of filling the space with obvious tennis decoration, the project used material detail, colour, scale and unexpected object-making to create a distinctive brand experience. Delivered in just one week, the project showed how Fab.Pub can move quickly from concept to installation while still producing bespoke, polished and brand-sensitive results.
The final display created a cohesive visual environment for Converse at Nike House, turning a compact retail setting into an engaging product experience.
