Fab.Pub
Empowering Circular way to life

Fab.Pub is a Signatory of Circularity in Practice

Fab.Pub and Mamou-Mani are proud to be a Signatory of Circularity in Practice.
A nationwide, voluntary initiative inspired by His Majesty The King to accelerate circular solutions across the built environment.

At the launch in Manchester, we presented our Mobile Factory as a practical example of circular fabrication, demonstrating how digital manufacturing can support material reuse, reduce waste, and extend the life of products and components.

Our Role as a Signatory

The initiative brings together businesses from across the UK to accelerate the adoption of circularity, including designing out waste, focusing on reuse, high-quality recycling, remanufacturing, and repurposing in the places where we live and work.

As a Signatory, Fab.Pub supports this practical, business-led approach by demonstrating how circular fabrication can be applied in real-world scenarios.

Through our Mobile Factory, we explore how digital fabrication and robotic manufacturing can reduce waste, extend material life cycles, and enable reuse and reconfiguration of components.

Our role is to contribute to the initiative’s focus on scalable, commercially viable solutions by sharing practical examples of circular design and fabrication in action.

About Circularity in Practice

Circularity in Practice is designed to accelerate the adoption of proven circular solutions in the UK across the places where we live and work. It is a nationwide, voluntary initiative that brings together businesses across sectors and is focused on practical action rather than fundraising, philanthropy, policy, or regulation.

The initiative responds to a clear challenge. While there is no shortage of ideas, innovation, and policy discussion around circularity, adoption at scale has been slower. Its purpose is to help make waste elimination, reuse, high-quality recycling, and remanufacturing part of everyday business decision-making, so circularity becomes a reflex rather than an afterthought.

“Circularity in Practice is about repurposing with purpose, today.”

Our Presence at the Launch

Fab.Pub took part in the launch of Circularity in Practice at the SUEZ Renew Hub in Greater Manchester, where businesses, stakeholders, and organisations from across the material environment came together to support the adoption of practical circular solutions.

As part of our presence at the event, we showcased our Mobile Factory and shared how digital fabrication can support circular thinking in real-world applications. Our contribution focused on practical methods to reduce waste, improve material efficiency, and extend the lifespan of components and products.

The Mobile Factory in Action

At the event, Fab.Pub presented the Mobile Factory as a working example of circular fabrication. The Mobile Factory demonstrates how robotic 3D printing and digital manufacturing can enable more efficient production processes, reduce unnecessary waste, and create opportunities for reuse, reconfiguration, and longer material lifecycles.

This aligns closely with the initiative’s focus on practical, scalable solutions already implemented across the built environment that deliver both environmental and commercial value.

Robotic fabrication with practical application

Using robotic 3D printing to deliver real-world fabrication solutions across architecture, interiors, and product design.

Reduced waste through efficient production

Optimising material use through precise digital processes, minimising excess and reducing production waste.

Potential for reuse and reconfiguration

Designing components that can be adapted, reassembled, or repurposed across multiple applications and life cycles.

A scalable example of circular thinking in action

Demonstrating how circular fabrication can be implemented at scale, supporting both environmental and commercial outcomes.

Presenting Our Circular Approach

During the launch event, Fab.Pub had the opportunity to present its circular fabrication approach and discuss how digital manufacturing can support practical circular solutions in the built environment.

Circularity in Practice was inspired by His Majesty The King, who attended the launch in Manchester and built on his lifelong commitment to environmental stewardship.

What Circularity Means in Practice

In practical terms, circularity means taking steps to keep materials and products in use within their highest utility for as long as possible. This can include reuse, refurbishment, remanufacturing, and high-quality recycling.

For the built environment, that means moving away from linear models and towards systems that make better use of resources, reduce waste, and create value across multiple life cycles. Circularity in Practice is focused on helping organisations adopt these approaches in ways that are practical, credible, and commercially sensible.

Reuse

Keeping materials and products in use for longer.

Remanufacturing

Returning a used product to at least its original performance and appearance.

High-quality recycling

Maintaining material value rather than downcycling it.

Why This Matters to Fab.Pub

We see circularity as a practical design and fabrication challenge as much as an environmental one. Through digital fabrication, robotic manufacturing, and material-led experimentation, we are exploring ways to support a more circular approach to making.

Being part of Circularity in Practice gives us an opportunity to contribute to a broader conversation across the built environment while demonstrating how fabrication technologies can support practical progress today.

Our participation reflects a shared belief that circular solutions should be visible, workable, and commercially realistic, not just aspirational.
